So as most who follow me on twitter (www.twitter.com/wa2_tv) or youtube (www.youtube.com/wa2tv) you'd know that I have been on Jury duty now for 5 weeks. Thank God it is the last, but I must say I will not be so happy to be going back to my job. Now your probably wondering why the title but this is what I mean.
As I child you would always hear adults say "Oh he/she is just young" as an excuse for their immaturity, but I have found with time as I have gotten older that its just that.. An Excuse! These 5 weeks have been nothing more than revisit of grade school.
Drama, Drama, Drama, outside of listening to cases we have tons of down time, and when there is down time people talk. Please don't leave the room when the conversations start because you will definitely be a target. Just like children on the school yard the gossiping and talking about one another begins... "She's married and trying to get that mans number..," or "She always got to comment or ask questions.." or " I cant stand him/her they get on my last nerve..." Yet as soon as you come back in the room its all smiles.
For the most part I have stayed to my self and not spoke too much about my personal life just because of the behavior of the adults surrounding. This is a small room so your business is everybody's business. The behavior of some adults 3o- 6o years in age has surprised me, I don't know why though. After all this is not the first time I have experienced situations like this, but for some reason it seems to surprise me every time.
This is why I say Wine gets better with age but people don't!!!

people are people. I deal with the same situation at work. I can only imagine if you talking about this person and that person what you are saying about me behind my back. That's why I come to work to do my Job be nice and happy and leave.
ReplyDeleteGreat points Watu. It kinda brings afeism back into it too. There are some very wise, mature and stable 22 year olds. And there are some stupid, immature and unstable 50 year olds. I always keep saying that old adage about age is just a number. It is sooooooo true. Glad to see you're blogging. Looking foward to more.
